FeLV #1 (8 weeks at the earliest)

Questions

When should my Cornish Rex start vaccinations?

Most Cornish Rex kittens start their first FVRCP between 6 and 8 weeks in the US, or 8 to 9 weeks in the UK and EU. Use the form above with your kitten's age and country to see the next-due date.

My Cornish Rex has very fine fur. Does that affect vaccinations?

The injection site is more visible with such fine fur. Watch for redness or swelling for a day or two after a shot. The schedule and the vaccine choices are unchanged.

Does my Cornish Rex need FeLV?

AAFP recommends FeLV through the first-year booster for every kitten. Cornish Rex are typically indoor cats; after year one, indoor-only adults can usually drop FeLV.

Are Cornish Rex more sensitive to vaccines?

Not specifically. Cornish Rex follow the standard FVRCP schedule with no breed-specific reaction patterns.

Same schedule for a Cornish Rex mix?

Yes. FVRCP, and rabies where the law or travel requires it, are the same for purebreds and mixes. So is FeLV, which is core for kittens under one year (AAHA/AAFP); for adult cats it depends on lifestyle, not breed. The schedule above works for any Cornish Rex mix.
