When should my Norwegian Forest start vaccinations?
Most Norwegian Forest kittens start their first FVRCP between 6 and 8 weeks in the US, or 8 to 9 weeks in the UK and EU. Use the form above with your kitten's age and country to see the next-due date.
My Norwegian Forest goes outside. Does that change things?
Yes, for FeLV. It is core for every kitten under one year anyway (AAHA/AAFP), and for an adult cat outdoor access is the reason to keep the yearly booster. Core FVRCP and rabies timing is unchanged.
Does my Wegie need FIV vaccine?
No. No FIV vaccine is commercially available in Europe or North America, so it is not part of any schedule here. For a cat that goes outside, ask your vet about FeLV vaccination and about testing.
When can my Norwegian Forest go outside?
After the final FVRCP dose, which comes at 16 to 20 weeks in the US, plus rabies where it is required. In the UK protection starts 3 to 4 weeks after the final injection. Confirm the date with your vet.
Same schedule for a Norwegian Forest mix?
Yes. FVRCP, and rabies where the law or travel requires it, are the same for purebreds and mixes. So is FeLV, which is core for kittens under one year (AAHA/AAFP); for adult cats it depends on lifestyle, not breed. The schedule above works for any Norwegian Forest mix.
