Common questions about Ragdoll vaccinations

When should my Ragdoll start vaccinations?

Most Ragdoll kittens start their first FVRCP between 6 and 8 weeks in the US, or 8 to 9 weeks in the UK and EU. Use the form above with your kitten's age and country to see the next-due date.

My Ragdoll is indoor-only. Can we skip FeLV?

AAFP recommends FeLV for every kitten through the first-year booster, regardless of indoor plans, because lifestyle changes in the first year are common. After year one, confirmed indoor-only Ragdolls can usually drop FeLV. Discuss at the year-one booster.

Should my Ragdoll get HCM screening?

Yes. Ragdolls have elevated risk for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. An echocardiogram before any future anesthesia is sensible. Vaccine schedule itself is unchanged.

How does my Ragdoll's calm temperament affect vet visits?

Generally Ragdolls handle vet visits well, with less stress than higher-energy breeds. Same vaccine schedule, easier appointments.

Same schedule for a Ragdoll mix?

Yes for the core vaccines. FVRCP and Rabies are identical for purebreds and mixes. Non-core vaccines (FeLV, FIV) depend on lifestyle and region, not breed. The schedule above works for any Ragdoll mix.
