When should my Havanese start vaccinations?
Most Havanese puppies start their first DHPP between 6 and 8 weeks in the US, or 6 to 9 weeks in the UK and EU. Use the form above with your puppy's age and country to see the next-due date.
Should my Havanese get split visits?
Possible. Havanese are small but not toy-sized, so most tolerate combined visits. If your pup is sore or sluggish after a shot, ask your vet about split visits next time.
Does my Havanese need Lyme or leptospirosis?
Lyme is often skipped for a mostly indoor Havanese, and Bordetella matters if you use daycare or grooming. Leptospirosis is not a lifestyle choice any more: in the US it is core for all dogs, with a booster every year (AAHA). In the UK it is part of the usual puppy course, and elsewhere it is core where the disease is present (WSAVA).
How often does my Havanese need annual boosters?
Not everything is yearly. DHPP is every 3 years after the first adult booster (AAHA), and rabies every 1 or 3 years depending on local law and product. Leptospirosis is yearly, and Bordetella is yearly if your Havanese is around other dogs.
Same schedule for a Havanese mix?
Yes. The core vaccines are the same for purebreds and mixes: DHPP, leptospirosis in the US (AAHA), and rabies where the law or travel requires it. Vaccines such as Lyme and Bordetella depend on lifestyle and region, not breed. The schedule above works for any Havanese mix.
